City's Pathways leadership development programme is designed to build up colleagues that aspire to lead. It provides the opportunity for them to develop the necessary skills and behaviours to perform at the highest level. Through a blended learning approach and support from experienced leaders, colleagues are equipped to manage and lead people, plan and prioritise, coach, communicate, problem solve and make decisions.
We have two Pathways intakes each year, and all colleagues are well informed on the eligibility criteria and selection process. Our programmes are designed to support the development of leaders at different levels within the business:
Pathways classrooms are delivered both in-person and remotely, giving our colleagues the flexibility to suit their situation. Attendees have access to our purpose-built LMS (Learning Management System) with engaging resources, as well as dedicated communication channels to support each other as they progress through the programmes.
We saw a 75% increase in women delegates during our 2019/2020 programmes, and we continue to focus on fair representation in our development and talent initiatives. 70% of our graduates have already progressed into a leadership role, with new leaders being added every month.
Our Pathways graduates have progressed into roles within Cleaning Operations Management, Engineering Operations Management, Head Office Support Management, Project Management, and Design Management, as well as more senior leadership roles.
