In response to growing environmental pressures, a world leading oil and gas provider partnered with City to find long term solutions in improving the efficiency of the refrigeration systems running in their petrol forecourts across the UK. Solutions were also required to reduce the usage of harmful fluorinated gases.
After conducting a forensic audit of the existing system, City was able to re-model the maintenance and monitoring processes currently in place at the forecourt shops. Our insight led to a new system whereby temperature forecasts of anything greater than 21 degrees would trigger double technician rotas being put in place until the temperature dropped.
Additionally, technicians now work more collaboratively and play an active role in supporting stores beyond their regular maintenance visits.
Headline results included a 20% reduction in call outs due to refrigeration failure, a 40% reduction in Fluorinated-Gas usage and a compelling increase in the reliability of the partner’s refrigeration systems in the face of hot weather. Implementation of this new model also coincided with a record breaking week of sales at the sites.
